Beltane - a Celebration of the Flowering

We gather together for the ancient Celtic celebration of Beltane, halfway between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice, the introduction into summer. Into greater illumination, perhaps greater clarity. The word Beltane comes from the Irish Béal-tine meaning ‘Mouth of Fire,' a powerful symbol of the Sun and the energies of growth, communication and action.

The blooming and beauty of flowers are an enduring symbol of Beltane in the British Isles. We will gather together with flowers and meadows at Starry Meadows, the beautiful farm of friend and co-leader Sharon Landis. Even during the destruction and dismantling of systems we have come to love and rely on, there is also the flowering of new possibility.
