About the Event

Join with other humans and more-than-humans to celebrate Beltane, an ancient Gaelic fire festival honoring the flowering of the earth, midway between spring equinox and summer solstice. There will be time to explore the beauty of fields and stream, of wildflowers, birds and small creatures. There will be time for grounding ourselves in this season; to contemplate how our inner lives are mirrored by the rhythms of the earth.

In the midst of calamity, disorientation and distraction, the forsythia blooms. The new seeds sprout. The world Is blooming and breaking at the same time. Wild Church people know how to sit with paradox. We don't have to choose between wonder and grief. We hold them both. On the edges of everything new life blooms. Where do you see or sense this in you?

Bring a folding chair or blanket, your water bottle, journal and pen. You're Invited to also bring…

With respect, acknowledgment, and love, we gather on the land of the Eastern Siouan-speaking ancestors of the Monacan Nation and Manahoac peoples, and of the Iroquoian speakers and of the Central Algonquian language speakers.
