About the Event

We'll meet Mondays @ 7 pm ET for five weeks to engage with this book, and with the natural world around us,  in conversation with one another. This beautiful book is full of raw and real stories of a life lived in devotion to the Sacred, and the reconciling of what Christian culture has separated - nature and spirituality.  It will lead us into our own stories - how we've been shaped by the Places we live, how nature has called us into relationship, how the Holy is found in all aspects of our lives, including the trees in our backyard. It will lead us into a new orientation toward scriptures that may have become rote or irrelevant, raise questions about what we think we know, and invite new ways of seeing both the world, nature, and some of the history of the Christian faith tradition.

This book is not so much about church of the wild, the organizational new expressions of "church" that are sprouting up across the United States and Canada; rather, it is about the foundational quality that we are each a church of the wild as we open into relationship with the wider natural world that we are interconnected with.

This book was written by my sister, Victoria Loorz, co-founder of the Wild Church Network, and of Seminary of the Wild.

Please read the prologue and the first two chapters before our first call, as our first evening will focus on these. It can be purchased on Amazon, and at independent bookstores. If you have any questions, please email svchurchofthewild@gmail.com. I look forward to connecting with you!
