About the Event

We gather to enter this sacred in-between time - the equinox - situated in between summer and winter solstices. Between brightest light and deepest dark. A time of beginning to gather in, to harvest, to release, to prepare. We will orient to the energy of this time and season, to the wisdom of landscapes within and around, with one another and our own soul.

We will enter in with song and chant, led by Craig Green and Cleo Keller of Songtuary! Please join us with your voice, your presence, your... you. We are so grateful to collaborate with Craig and Cleo to join the vibration of song with the trees and creatures and waters of Hone Quarry!

Remember that this gathering is open to anyone from any faith tradition or none. Come as you are and allow your heart to be as open as it is able. This is a safe space of belonging. Here's a list of a few things to bring:

  • A folding camp chair (or any folding chair or blanket to sit on)
  • Your water bottle
  • Insect repellant if you need it
  • Your intention or your open-hearted inquiry about what this season is calling forth
  • Bring a friend if you'd like!

We will meet at either the day-use area at Hone Quarry or in the campground. Our sign will indicate where we are - if you see it at the big parking area at the day-use area, park your car and walk over the little bridge to the meadow to find us. If there is no sign, keep driving another 1/4 mile to the campground and drive in until you find us. You'll see our sign!

Hone Quarry can be found using your GPS (about 30 min outside of Harrisonburg). Please note that there is no cell service or WIFi out there, so set your directions when you leave the house. If you'd like to carpool with someone else in the area, please reach out by email or text churchofthewildshenvalley@gmail.com or 540-405-9201.

We welcome your donations for Church of the Wild and for Craig and Cleo as part of a full circle of sacred reciprocity. This is not required, it is an invitation to support and participate in whatever ways you are able. There will be ways to donate at the gathering or you can give via Venmo or PayPal.
