About the Event
Equinox invites us to pause. To notice the moment of in-between what was and what is yet to emerge. The equal measures of darkness and light/feminine and masculine, past and future within us and within the rest of nature. We will gather to listen, to awaken our awareness, to participate with the alive movements of the now, and of change and new life.
There will be time to ground ourselves in the right here, right now. To open our awarenesses and participate in embodied prayer. To wander by ourselves in the full accompaniment of the beautiful trees, plants, creatures and elements of Hone Quarry. To listen in perhaps new ways and to share as you feel led during a sharing circle.
What to Bring:
- Folding chair or blanket to sit on
- Your water bottle with water or warm beverage
- Journal and pen if this is something that helps you process
- Your open heart
How to Get There:
We will meet in the day use/picnic area at Hone Quarry Recreation Area. GPS will bring you right to Hone Quarry Rd. Up about 1.5 miles you'll come to a large parking area on the left with a big sign for Hone Quarry picnic area/day use. Also look for our Church of the Wild sign. Walk over the little foot bridge and along the path past the stone picnic shelter and up into the open meadow. You'll see us! Please plan to arrive about 10 minutes early to give you time to park, find us, and settle in. Be aware that there is no cell service or WiFi once you get about 10 minutes from Hone Quarry. You'll need to set your GPS when you leave your house if you need directions.
