About the Event
Lúnasa, Irish for "August," invites us into the cusp of a new season, in between summer solstice and autumn equinox. For the ancient Celts, this was the beginning of the agricultural harvest, celebrated in community. While some of us may be tuned into these beginning days of the actual harvesting of the first fruits of gardening at whatever scale, we broaden the symbolism of harvest to include what is ripening within our soul and in our lives through our connection with earth and spirit. We open to the intelligence of plants and trees to guide us.
Join us for ecospiritual practices, grounding into the earth and into this season, a time for wandering and a time for sharing as you feel led. Come with open hearts and minds to receive. A gentle question to guide these days before we meet: What do I sense is ripening or coming into its fullness within me? Where do I see this in my life? What comes may be a subtle feeling or could be a full-blown harvest of patient growth.
Things to Bring/Wear:
- Folding chair or blanket to sit on
- Bug spray if you need it
- Journal and pen if you like
- Walking shoes
We will meet in the open meadow at Hone Quarry picnic area. After parking in the large parking area about 1.5 miles from entrance to Hone Quarry Rd, walk over the little bridge, pass the stone picnic shelter, and into the meadow. Look for our sign in the parking area! Rustic facilities are available. The ground is flat and easily walkable, with some roots and stones.
