Please RSVP to receive updates and details. This year, Shenandoah Valley Church of the Wild is participating in the Global Earth Exchange on solstice. Along with many other wild churches, and thousands of people around the world, who will gather in natural places that have been wounded, polluted or lost. We will gather to bring our attention, care, grief and joy to the local polluted waters of Blacks Run/Cooks Creek/North River through blessings, art, poetry and presence.


Blacks Run and Cooks Creek are classified as impaired by the EPA and VA Department of Environmental Quality due to violations of water quality standards for humans and the general standard for aquatic life. In addition, drought impacts the local ecosystem and all of life within it.


As the light half of the year reaches its pinnacle, we will shine a light on the suffering and beauty of local waters. There is no…
