About the Event

We gather for Solstice to celebrate the energy and vitality of the Sun. We come with gratitude for life that wouldn't be possible without the miracle of the Sun and its relationship with Earth. We may come with grief or growing pains and ask for Sun wisdom. What are the attributes of the Sun at work within you? What meaning does the actual and archetypal Sun bring to your life? Join us for ritual, poetry, storytelling, wandering and sharing. Please RSVP so you receive updates about location, weather, etc! Changes do happen often.

What to Bring:

  • A folding chair or blanket to sit on
  • Your reuseable water bottle
  • A journal and pen if that's helpful for you and/or art supplies for drawing
  • A gift to the Sun for our altar - either something tangible and symbolic of the Sun, a poem or piece of writing, anything. Don't worry about this if nothing comes to mind, it's a suggestion for participation.

We will most likely meet in the open meadow area where the picnic day-use area is. Look for our sign by the Hone Quarry Picnic Area sign is in the big open mostly dirt/gravel parking area. Cross over the little wooden walk bridge, past the stone picnic shelter and into the open area. You'll see us!

For questions, please text 540-405-9201 or email svchurchofthewild@gmail.com. Phone calls are hard for me to answer and I may not get back to you.
