Winter Solstice Gathering

Wendell Berry invites us into the dark on the dark's terms. As we turn fully toward the wisdom of winter, to what is cold and stark, we approach on soft feet, slowly, to see, hear, know, the sacred wisdom of dark. While many mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds enter into different states of consciousness during winter, we will gather around nature's ways of approaching and sinking into the deep well that holds us. For heaven and earth, darkness and light, do not have fixed boundaries. 

What to Bring:

• Folding chair and blankets to wrap in
• Wear your warm layers so you can be present in the colder temperatures
• Journal and pen if this helps
• Your own thermos or mug
• A poem or song of the dark

There will be hot water, tea and hot chocolate available to warm us. Please bring your own mug or thermos. 

For anyone who would like to join us after the gathering for dinner, we will drive up the street toThe Cracked Pillar restaurant in Bridgewater to warm up and celebrate what this season of dormancy is gestating. If you plan on coming, please let us know before-hand so we can make reservations.
